aka Gibson's Block House. One account claims this event happened on May 26th, while another claims sometime in early June 1780.


Patriot Militia under the command of Lt. Col. William Bratton dispersed a meeting of Loyalists at the meetinghouse northwest of Winnsborough.
Capt. John McClure joined forces with Col. Richard Winn and Lt. Col. William Bratton and they attacked Col. Charles Coleman's Loyalists in a strong block house adjacent to the church. They were also able to recover much plunder plus impressed horses and servants.
