An Act to Amend Section 4, Latter Clause, Which Provides a Section to be Known as Section 9 of an Act Entitled "An Act to Amend Sections 3 and 4 of an Act Entitled 'An Act to Provide for the Establishment of a New School District in Greenville County, and to Authorize the Levy and Collection of a School Tax Therein,' Approved December 26th, 1885, Relating to the Levying of a Tax and the Election of Trustees, and Adding Another Section to be Known as Section 9, Providing for the Collection of Said Tax by the City Treasurer of Greenville."

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, That Section 4, latter clause, which provides a section to be known as Section 9 of an Act entitled "An Act to amend Sections 3 and 4 of an Act entitled An Act to provide for the establishment of a new school district in Greenville County, and to authorize the levy and collection of a school tax therein,' approved December 26th, 1885, relating to the levying of a tax and the election of trustees, and adding another section to be known as Section 9, providing for the collection of said tax by the City Treasurer of Greenville," [approved December 20, 1893] be, and the same is hereby, amended by striking out the words "January, 1885," on line one of said Section 9, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "June, 1898," and by striking out the word "city," on line three, and inserting in lieu thereof the word "county," and by striking out the words "the municipal," on line four, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "State and county," and by striking out the words "City Treasurer," on line five, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "County Treasurer," so that said Section 9, when so amended, shall read as follows:

"Section 9. That on and after June, 1898, the special school tax herein provided for shall be collected by the Treasurer of the County of Greenville ,at the same time and in the same manner as the State and county taxes are collected, and shall be protected by the bond of the said County Treasurer, and shall be paid out by him upon the warrant signed by the chairman and countersigned by the secretary of the Board of School Trustees of said school district."
