Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, now met and sitting in General Assembly, and by the authority of the same, That Section 2 of an Act entitled "An Act to amend the charter of the School District of the City of Sumter be, and the same is hereby, repealed, and that the following be inserted in said Act to be known as:

"Section 2. Four School Commissioners for School District of the City of Sumter shall be elected on the 2nd Tuesday in June, A. D. 1894, between the hours of 9 o'clock A. M. and 4 o'clock P. M., and between the same hours on the second Tuesday in June of every second year thereafter, who, together with the Mayor of the city of Sumter, shall constitute the School Board for said school district, and they shall hold their offices for the term of two years, and until their successors shall have been elected and qualified. The said four School Commissioners shall be elected in the same manner as is now or may hereafter be provided for the election of a Mayor and Aldermen of said city; and it shall be the duty of the Mayor and Aldermen of said city to provide for the election of said Commissioners; and that the registration of voters made for the municipal election shall be used for election of School Commissioners. That should the office of School Commissioner become vacant, during the term for which he was or may be elected, by death, resignation or otherwise, it shall be the duty of the Mayor and Aldermen, as soon thereafter as practicable, to elect a suitable person to fill the unexpired term."

Sec. 3. All Acts or parts of Acts inconsistent with this Act be, and the same are hereby, repealed.
