Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, now met and sitting in General Assembly, and by the authority of the same, That Section 1 of an Act entitled "An Act to provide for the establishment of anew school district in the County of Darlington, to be known as the School District of the Town of Timmonsville, and to authorize the levy and collection of a school tax therein," approved December 24th, 1883, be, and the same is hereby, amended so as to read as follows:

"Section 1. That for the purpose of maintaining graded public schools in the Town of Timmonsville, and for promoting their efficiency, the area embraced in all that part of Timmonsville Township, in the County of Darlington, lying between Sparrow Swamp and Lake Swamp, from the Northern boundary of the township to the Southern boundaries of the lands of the estate of McLendon, of Evander White and of the estate of E. B. Garner, now owned by C. W. Hewitt, including the Town of Timmonsville, is hereby declared to be a new school district, to be known as the School District of the Town of Timmonsville.

In the Senate House, the twenty-first day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.
