An Act to Amend the Charter of the Medical College of the State of South Carolina.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, now met and sitting in General Assembly, and by the authority of the same, That the charter of the Medical College of the State of South Carolina be, and the same is hereby, amended so that the Trustees and Faculty of the Medical College of the State of South Carolina shall have power and authority to establish a Department of Pharmacy in the said Medical College, and to appoint professors and instructors, and to confer degrees in pharmacy on such persons as may have attended lectures in the said college and may be recommended by the faculty of said department, and such other persons as they may propose, upon such terms, conditions, rules and regulations in relation to the said department as shall be from time to time made by the said Board of Trustees and Faculty of the Medical College aforesaid, and the said Depart ment of Pharmacy to maintain, modify, suspend, or abolish at their discretion: Provided, That the instructor in practical pharmacy in such department shall always be nominated by the Pharmaceutical Association of the State of South Carolina and approved by the Board of Trustees and Faculty of the Medical College of the State of South Carolina.
