An Act to Exempt from Taxation the Campus Grounds of Furman University.

Acts and Joint Resolutions of the General Assembly of South Carolina 1877-1878, Page 395.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, now met and sitting in General Assembly, and by the authority of the same, That the campus grounds of Furman University, consisting of forty acres of land and the appurtenances thereto belonging, situated in Greenville city, shall be and continue exempt and discharged from all taxes, assessments and other charges which may be imposed under the authority of the State of South Carolina so long as the Furman University shall offer free tuition to the citizens of this State.
