An Act to Amend Section 1, Chapter LXIX, of the Revised Statutes, and to Authorize the Governor to Appoint Regents of the Lunatic Asylum From Richland County.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, now met and sitting in General Assembly, and by the authority of the same, That Section 1, Chapter LXIX, of the Revised Statutes be, and the same is hereby, amended so as to read as follows: “That the Governor shall appoint nine Regents of the Lunatic Asylum, who shall hold their offices for six years from the day of appointment, except from the occurrence of a vacancy in the Regency, when the Governor shall fill the same by an appointment for the unexpired term only. The Regents shall be appointed from Richland County, and shall receive neither mileage, per diem or other compensation for their services.”
