From the 1st Annual Report of the North Carolina Railroad Commission, dated December 31, 1891: The Wilmington Sea-Coast Railroad Company was organized under laws State of North Carolina, Acts, 1888 [no, 1887]. Road completed and opened June, 1888. The Wilmington Sea-Coast Railroad Company purchased the Ocean View Railroad, February 28th, 1891, and now owns the whole line from Wilmington to Atlantic Station, 11.81 miles.
