Roxboro, NC

* 1887 - Consolidated with the Durham & Roxboro Railroad to become the Lynchburg & Durham Railroad.
Was the Roxboro & TBD Narrow Gauge Railroad.

Exactly as the previous incarnation as the Roxboro & TBD Narrow Gauge Railroad, the Legislative Act creating the charter for this railroad gave the owners the option to choose their own terminus. The Act named several alternatives, including Milton, Oxford, Henderson, Durham, or Hillsboro within North Carolina, as well as any point on the North Carolina Railroad. The Act also named several alternatives in Virginia, including Danville, South Boston, and Clarksville.

This new Legislative Act also authorized the owners to choose any guage they wanted for their line, and not limited to Narrow Gauge as the previous Act specified.
