+ 1924 - On August 21, 1924, the NC State Legislature passed an Act authorizing the town of Carthage to purchase the Randolph & Cumberland Railroad. On the same date, the Legislature authorized any purchaser to sell off portions of said railroad.
+ 1906 - Company organized on June 30, 1906 under the laws of North Carolina. Charter amended via Private Act of General Assembly in 1907; Private Laws, Chapter 442. Charter amended via Private Act of General Assembly, NC, in 1911.
Was the Carthage Railroad. Operated about nine months before re-organizing as the Randolph & Cumberland Railway.
