The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. That section two of chapter forty-seven (47) of the private laws of 1887, by adding at the end of said section the following words: The Governor shall appoint three persons, who shall be directors on the part of the state, with all the powers now conferred by said Act, whose term shall be two, four and six years, and the said term to be fixed in the commission by the Governor.

Sec. 2. That chapter one hundred and seventy-four (174) of the public laws of 1895 be amended by striking out in line four of section one the word "thirty" and insert the word "fifty."

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in force from its ratification.

Ratified the 6th day of March, A.D. 1897.
