An Act to Amend the Public School Laws of the City of Statesville.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. That chapter three hundred and eighty-six (386) of the laws of one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one (1891), the same being an Act in relation to the public schools of the city of Statesville, be amended as follows: in line four (4), section four (4), of said Act, after the word "law," insert the following:

"two of the said school committee, to serve for a term of ,six (6) years, shall be elected by the qualified voters of the city of Statesville at the next regular election for mayor of said city, and every two years thereafter, as the terms of office of the present school committee shall expire."

Sec. 2. That this Act shall be in force from and after its ratification.

Ratified the 8th day of March, A.D. 1895.
