An Act to Prohibit the Sale of Spirituous Liquors Within Three Miles of Marvin [Morven] Academy in Anson County.

Public Laws of the State of North Carolina Passed in 1885 - Page 588.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to sell or give away any intoxicating liquors within three miles of Marvin [sic, Morven] Academy in Anson County.

Sec. 2. Any person or persons violating this Act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction before any justice of the peace having jurisdiction shall be punished by a fine of not more than fifty dollars or by imprisonment not to exceed thirty days.

Sec. 3. That this Act shall be in force from and after the tenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

In the General Assembly read three times, and ratified this the 11th day of March, A.D. 1885.
