An Act to Amend Chapter One Hundred and Twenty-One, Laws of One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy-Six and Seventy-Seven.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. That chapter one hundred and twenty-one of the laws of oue thousand eight hundred and seventy-six and seventy-seven, be amended by striking out the word "eight" in the third line of the first section thereof, and inserting the word "sixteen" in lieu thereof.

Sec. 2. That of the additional trustees authorized by this Act, two shall be elected for the term of two years, two for four years, two for six years, and two for eight years; and at the expiration of their terms of service, their places shall be filled from time to time in like manner for eight years, so that one-fourth shall be elected every two years.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in force from and after its ratification.

In the general assembly read three times, and ratified this the 13th day of February, A.D. 1883.
