An Act to Amend the Charter of Davidson College.

Section 1. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact, That section nine (9) of an Act passed by the general assembly of North Carolina, the twenty-eighth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-eight, incorporating Davidson College, be amended by striking out the word "two," before the word "miles," and insert the word "three;" and by adding to said section the words: "and shall be guilty of a misdemeanor."

Sec. 2. That the following section, number thirteen, be added:

"That in addition to the number of trustees, now authorized by the charter of said corporation to be elected as therein prescribed, there shall be four trustees elected by the alumni of the college, who shall be elected at the first meeting of the association after the passage of this amendment, to hold office for the same time as prescribed for the other trustees, one of which trustees shall go out of office every year, subject, however, to re-election."

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in force from and after its ratification.
