An Act to Prevent the Sale of Spirituous Liquors Within Five Miles of Rutherford Seminary.

Private Laws of the State of North Carolina Passed in 1868-69 - Page 255.

Section 1. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact, That no person within five miles of Rutherford Seminary, Burke County, shall sell or give spirituous liquors to any student of said Seminary, without a written permit from the President of the same.

Sec. 2. That if any person or persons shall violate the provisions of this Act, he, she or they shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more than fifty dollars for each offense, and in default of payment may be imprisoned not more than thirty days.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in force from and after its ratification.

Ratified the 12th day of April, A.D., 1869.
