An Act to Incorporate LaPlace High School.

Private Laws of the State of North Carolina Passed in 1864-65 - Page 3.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Joel Loftin, B. F. Cobb, D. K. Kornegay, A. S. Davis, John Southerland and R. W. Millard be, and they are hereby declared to be, with their associates, successors and assigns, a body politic and corporate, by the name and style of "The Trustees of Laplace High School," and by the name and style aforesaid shall be for thirty years after the ratification of this act, a body corporate and politic, having the right to hold such real and personal estate as is needful for the purposes of the school, and generally to do such acts, and be subject to such duties and liabilities as by the law of this State appertain to corporations
