An Act for the Relief of Davidson College.

1860-1861 Private Laws: Chapter 71

Private Laws of the State of North Carolina Passed in 1860-61 - Page 42.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the State of North Carolina hereby remits and releases any and all claim whatsoever due her for the collateral tax upon the estate devised and bequeathed to Davidson College by virtue of the last will and testament of the late Maxwell Chambers, dec'd: Provided, That all costs and fees shall be paid by the college.

Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect from and immediately after its passage.

Ratified the 22nd day of February, 1861.
