Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That an Act, passed in the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty-four, entitled "An Act to Amend an Act, Entitled 'An Act to establish an academy in the town of Halifax,'" passed in the year eighteen hundred and twenty-one, be, and the same is hereby repealed.

II. Be it further enacted, That the commissioners of the town of Halifax for the time being, or a majority of them, are hereby authorized, at their discretion, to sell and convey in fee simple the Academy lots, and their appurtenances, in said town, and the money arising from such sale shall be liable, in their hands, to the claims of those who subscribed the funds with which said lots and academy were purchased and constructed, in a just and rateable proportion to their respective contributions.

Read three times and ratified in General Assembly,
this 12th day of February, A.D.1827.
