An Act Providing for a Female Department in the Greensborough Academy.

1820 - Chapter 47

The Laws of the State of North Carolina 1820 - Pages 42-43.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of North Carolina and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the Female Academy which is at present in operation under the direction of certain managers in Greensborough, in Guilford County, shall in future compose a part of the Greensborough Academy already established by law and is hereby declared to be incorporated therein by the name of the Female Department of the Greensborough Academy, and shall be under the superintendence, direction and control of the Trustees of said Academy, shall be entitled to all the rights, privileges and immunities, and subject to the same rules, regulations and restrictions as are granted to, or exercised by, the said Trustees of the said Academy, as fully, to all intents and purposes, as if the said department had been particularly mentioned in the Act of incorporation, so far as the same may be applicable to the said department.
