An Act to Establish an Academy in Robeson County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That James McQueen, Murdoch Mclnnis, Daniel McKay, Malcom McInnis, Alexander Little and Zechariah Jordan, be, and they are hereby declared to be a body politic and corporate, to be known and distinguished by the name of The Trustees of Mount Clio Academy, and by that name shall have perpetual succession, and shall have the same powers and authorities to ask, demand and receive, and to do and act in all things which may tend to its promotion, in an full and ample manner as do trustees of all other academies in this State, and shall have power to make any by-laws for the good government thereof, which may not be repugnant to the laws or constitution of this State.

II. And be it further enacted, That the said trustees or a majority of them, shall have full power and authority to appoint other trustees in the place of those who may die, remove or refuse to act.
