An Act to Amend the Act Establishing an University in this State.

Whereas, the Trustees of the University of North Carolina, have prayed this General Assembly, to amend their Act of incorporation, so as to dispense with the presense of the Treasurer at their meetings, and to ensure a more punctual attendance ot the Trustees;

I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That at the meetings of the Trustees of the said University, hereafter to be held, the presense of the Treasurer of the Board shall in no case be necessary to constitute a Board for business.

II. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the Trustees of the said University may fill vacancies in their Body, with such persons as in their judgment will faithfully discharge the duties of the trust reposed in them, without regard to the place of residence of the person so chosen.
