An Act to Amend an Act Authorizing the Trustees of the Lumberton Academy to Lay off and Sell Part of Said Town Commons to Raise a Fund for the Purpose of Building Said Academy, Passed in the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety-Six.

Whereas no provision is made in the above recited Act for the conveyance of the lots sold by virtue of said Act: For remedy whereof,

I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the Sheriff of Robeson County is hereby empowered and required on application of any purchaser of said lots, to execute a deed or deeds for the same, and such deed or deeds when duly executed by said Sheriff, recorded and registered, shall convey an estate in fee simple to the feoffee; any law, usage or custom to the contrary notwithstanding.
