An Act to Amend an Act, Entitled "An Act to Establish a Seminary of Learning in the Town of Lumberton and Raft Swamp, in the County of Robeson."

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That it shall be the express duty of the Trustees of Lumberton Academy, twice in each and every year, to post up at the court house of Robeson a fair and clear statement of their accounts, therein particularly stating the amount of subscriptions by them received, and names of the subscribers, and the amount subscribed by each person, the number of lots by them sold, and to whom, and the amount of each lot; with statements also to their expenditures, containing the amount and the purposes in which the same has been appropriated; and if the said Trustees shall fail or neglect to comply with the requisites of this Act, they shall forfeit and pay the sum of fifty pounds; to be recovered by action of debt, by any person who will sue for the same, and be applied to the use of the said seminary; any law, usage or custom to the contrary notwithstanding.
