An Act to Alter the Name of Glasgow County to that of Greene.

Chapter XXXIX

Laws of North Carolina 1799 - Page 19.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and after the passing of this Act, the county of Glasgow shall be called and known by the name of Greene County. Provided always, That nothing herein contained shall prevent any officer, either civil or military, the Clerk of the court of said county; or.Justices of the Peace, from exercising and enjoying their said offlces, and be entitled to all the privileges and immunities which they would be entitled to, if the name of the said county of Glasgow had not been altered.

Read three times, and ratified in General Assembly, this 23d day of December, 1799.
